FARO's 3D Documentation Conference was held on 25-26 April 2013 at the Marina Mandarin Hotel, Singapore, attended by about 150 industry participants from 17 countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
The theme of the conference is "Connecting 3D Communities", aiming to build a community platform based on 3D laser scanning technology, to showcase new developments in 3D laser scanning, explore its application fields, share resources and experience, encourage collaboration and innovation, and promote the development of 3D laser scanning technology.This is also the first high level grand gathering of 3D laser scanning technology in the Asia-Pacific region.The participants included enterprises, universities and dealers from construction, civil engineering, surveying and mapping, manufacturing, mining, tunnel, criminal investigation, factory facility management, cultural relic protection and other industries.
The conference will be divided into theme reports and sub-forums, and the latest products and application integration technologies will be displayed.The sub-forum includes: 1, construction and civil engineering, 2, mapping and tunnel, 3, cultural relic protection, 4, virtual manufacturing, 5, criminal investigation and accident analysis.
The speech by Jay W. Freeland, President and CEO of FARO, co-founder of FARO 3D Laser Scanner, Senior Technical strategy Director of FARO and authoritative Dr. Bernd Becker brought endless imagination to the attendees.Keynote presentations from Bharat Lohani, Professor at Kanpur Institute of Technology, India, Magnus Ronnang, technical specialist from VOLVO Car Group, Sweden, and other experts showed the broad application prospects of 3D laser scanning.Technology co., LTD.
